Are you wild, ripe, and ready?

AND DO YOU KNOW WITH EVERY BONE IN YOUR BODY THAT

NOW is the time to release the stranglehold of pretty and nice

NOW is the time to reclaim your long-muted howl

NOW is the time to say YES to your deep, feminine knowing

NOW is the time the world most needs your wildish nature

NOW is the time to live the teachings of WOMEN WHO RUN WITH THE WOLVES?

If you are aching, as I am, to pollinate the earth with your wild soul,

Join me for a 6-week deep dive into the teachings of Clarissa Pinkola Estés.

During this 6-week remote group, conducted via Zoom (with full recordings available for those who need to miss sessions) we will

  • Read and contemplate six later chapters of Women Who Run with the Wolves, a classic that changed how women conceived of their wild natures

  • Identify the parts of ourselves and external relationships that relate to each chapter

  • Practice witnessing and being witnessed as we share in group from wild, fierce, vulnerable places

  • Use ritual as a means to re-animate and retrieve lost self-parts

  • Go deeper with journal prompts, guided meditations, and active imagination

  • Embody the teachings through movement (with camera on or off)

  • Use sound to bring voice to parts of the psyche that have gone silent (with microphone on or off)

  • Work through eco-grief and the connection between wild places and the wild soul

  • Support each other between sessions in a private Facebook group

About Your Accompanist

sara laughing hands facing up.JPG

I have a vision of womxn unleashing their voices and modeling a new way forward.

It starts by womxn howling back at centuries-old stereotypes of the hysterical woman, the witch, and the weakling.

It starts by slowly untangling these deeply-etched negations as they are internalized in our bodies: In our hunched shoulders, our knotted throats, and our relentless self-doubt.

I am on this path with you. I have walked through wild portals of initiation, and I continue to walk through them. I've been through the portal of patriarchy. As the daughter of a well-known professor, I tried to reclaim my power at Harvard University. I slung intellectual jargon like weaponry, and was determined to conquer men by becoming one of them: a dominant male in an ivory tower. I rose and thrived in my undergraduate and doctoral work in Philosophy, but I was poised for a fall. In ignoring my animal body, it stalked me instead. Something deep within me rebelled, and I walked through the Dionysian portal of the club and party scene, spending the first half of my 20’s altered and adrift, in a cloud of confusion about why I chose this path instead of ‘making the most’ of my Harvard degree. But by ripping away everything I had built up, I came to a point where I could descend no further. I realized that I could only see myself from the outside — I had to be smart and sexy — or I was nothing. With the help of a gnarly jaw injury, I suddenly couldn't tolerate alcohol, bars, or even talking. I  curled into silence, and there began the path of integration. That path pointed me towards Esalen Institute, where I spent two years crying, dancing, and feeling again, and taking a good look at my shadow. After spending two more years on consecutive meditation retreats, immersed in koans and Zen meditation, I started my path towards becoming a somatic depth psychotherapist.

That was 10 years ago, and I'm still unfolding. As a psychotherapist, writer, scholar and doctoral candidate in human-animal studies, I am dedicated to helping human beings reinhabit their animal bodies and deepen their relationships with the animals within them and with all life on this earth. In addition to publishing on this topic in scholarly journals and teaching embodied academia at California Institute of Integral Studies, I continue to share my vision in venues such as a recent Ecopsychology conference, with my clients, in dreamwork intensives, ReWilding support groups, and in shadow-work seminars. My training includes: Gestalt Therapy, Hakomi, Jungian depth psychology, Authentic Movement, Butoh, Core Shamanism, Circling, Shadow Work, and Reiki.

But I'm not finished yet, nor do I want to be. I want to do it with you. Will you join me

What people are saying…

“Sara gives space for each unique experience, while guiding, in a shamanic-like way, through exploration, deep diving, and transformation. The teachings and experiential exercises supported me in going out of my comfort zone in a safe way, touching, exploring and experiencing freedom and new territory in my body…inspirational teachings that helped me further absorb concepts in the book, partner exercises to deepen in my own reflection and feel a sense of community in this work, and experiential exercises that helped me to embody the teachings and concepts.”

-Sierra, Yoga & Wellness Coach, www.sierrarose.space

“I loved the depth of shadow integration in Sara’s teachings. I am so much more able to claim my own desires and work with the skeleton woman inside of me. I'm more in touch with my inner voices and intuition. I'm more able to hold grief and disappointment, and see them as part of my longer-term journey. This work has impacted my life in so many ways!”
